Founder & Managing Director, Kyocera Wireless India (2003–2009): Established and scaled Kyocera’s wireless subsidiary in Bangalore, growing it to a 900 engineer operation by 2009. Directed development of mobile handsets and base-stations for Kyocera’s global portfolio selling across 17 countries.

In 2007, Dr. Samartha Nagabhushanam assumed a global leadership position to oversee Kyocera's mobile group with a Global business of US$ 2.4 - 2.7 Billion, predominantly operating from USA, Japan & India. Under his leadership, the team delivered over 45 Million wireless phones, including smartphones and built many 4G technologies base-stations such as iBurst, NG-PHS, WiMax and LTE. Kyocera during this time acquired Sanyo’s handset division to increase its global revenues to over US$ 5 Billion.

Mindtree Acquisition (2009): Orchestrated the Kyocera Wireless India acquisition by Mindtree Ltd. to give a non-linear revenue boost to Mindtree. It also reflected Dr. Samartha Nagabhushanam's focus on building an Apple from India.

President & CEO, Mindtree (2009–2010): Developed the first android handset to compete against Apple iPhone and won a contract with AT&T. Continued to lead the acquired business as part of Mindtree’s leadership team. Spearheaded the mobile, focused on building ready-to-brand handsets for global telecom operators and OEMs with 1400+ engineers and delivering US$ 22 Million revenues in the inception year.
